Twisted Vintage

I make heirloom journals by hand, with upcycled fabric for the covers.

I've journaled for years. I went looking for the perfect journal for fountain pens and failed every time. The ink bled through in every brand-name journal I tried. Out of sheer frustration, I learned to make my own.

Then I was sorting through clothes for donation and realized I already had the materials for bookcloth. A thrifted skirt. A vintage designer scarf. A bolt of fabric from the 1950s. Anything that catches my eye now ends up as a cover (and stays out of a landfill).

Every journal is bound using archival, acid-free paper that actually holds fountain pen ink without bleeding through. The endpapers carry my own artwork, a crossover from my freelance illustration practice. The art is designed to match the cover fabric. That's what makes many of these journals one-of-a-kind.
